Travel To Treehouse Lodge - Peru
Once you get to Iquitos, we’ll pick you up and take you directly to the treehouse hotel. Make sure to book your flights so that you arrive no earlier than 10:00 AM and no later than 2:30 PM and make sure your departing flight leaves after 12 Noon. If you arrive in Iquitos after 3:00 PM, you will need to spend one night in Iquitos and we will pick you up the following morning. Some popular ones include the Samiria Jungle Hotel, the Nativa Apartments, and the Casa Morey Hotel.
To get to Iquitos, you can either fly through Lima, Peru or Panama City, Panama. Lima has the most flights and options, but most people end up flying further and spending a little more since it requires overshooting Iquitos. For most people, the shortest and cheapest flights are through Panama City, but flights only go between Panama City and Iquitos on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Most flights to Lima require you to spend one night before flying to Iquitos the next day. For your flight from Lima to Iquitos, we only recommend you fly with LATAM. LATAM is the largest airline with the most options, and it can be more expensive, but delays are fairly rare with them.
We recommend avoiding the other local airlines as they are more likely to experience flight delays. We highly encourage booking a direct flight from Lima to Iquitos.
There is only one flight per day between Iquitos and Panama City and flights are only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flying through Panama usually requires spending a night also so be sure to let us know if we can help you with recommendations.
When traveling to Peru, many people like to combine a trip to Machu Picchu with a trip to the Amazon rainforest lodge. If this is something you want to do, we can make some recommendations. Flying between Machu Picchu near Cuzco and Iquitos is a fairly short flight, stopping briefly in Lima.
Once in Iquitos, your journey to the lodge will consists of a car ride for about 1:15 hours. After which, we will make a quick pit stop and transfer to the Treehouse river boat. You’ll ride about 1:15 hours, first down the Marañón River, across the Amazon River, and then up the Ucayali River before connecting to the Yarapa River where Treehouse Amazon Lodge sits.
