Covid-19 in Peru: National Travel

National Travel In Peru

Location: Peru (countrywide)

Event:  Peru has entered phase three of its gradual reopening plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. More businesses and services are allowed to operate, provided they comply with preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.  Flights: Since July 15th, domestic flights resumed at Jorge Chavez Airport after almost four months of suspended flights. The first flight was from Lima to Iquitos. You can travel to any region of Peru except to and from Ancash, Arequipa, Huanuco, Ica, Cusco, Junin, Madre de Dios, and San Martín; they still have a travel ban because they still have a lot of cases.  The number of flights has been reduced to around 17 flights per day. If you want to travel you must follow these recommendations given by the airport which allows you to fly.
  • All passengers must wear a facemask and a facial protector to enter the airport and can’t take it off at any time.
  • Passengers must arrive at Jorge Chavez Airport 3 hours before their flight to have their check-in and if you are flying from another region you will only need to arrive 2 hours before your flight.
  • Only passengers will be allowed to enter the airport, except for the ones that might need some help but just one person.
  • The passenger must present a Health Statement, in which they confirm they don’t have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been exposed to Covid-19 in the last 14 days.
  • Minors under 14 years old will only be allowed to fly if they travel with an adult or their tutor.
  • Anybody who wants to fly mustn’t have any fiber or symptom of illness at the time they arrive at the airport.

What this means for Treehouse Guests

    • If you’re planning on visiting Treehouse Lodge between August 1, 2020 – February 28, 2021 the final payment is due 7 days before your arrival to give you more flexibility in planning your trip.
    • For any of our guests who are more than 7 days out from their trip, they can cancel with a 100% refund.
    • All of our employees are required to use face masks at all times and they are also required to consistently wash their hands and use alcohol-based hand sanitizers to prevent any spread.
    • We also require all of our guests use a face mask while they stay outside their Treehouse and also if they go on an excursion it is recommended that they use it.
    • We already have attained approval of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) to welcome guests and also have hired a professional Nurse Technician to stay at the lodge all day in case any of our guests or employees feel sick.
