Take a jungle walk to an isolated oxbow lagoon, once part of the river.
Here you'll find giant water lilies up to six feet wide and encounter unique birds like the hoatzin, which feeds on poisonous plants, and the horned screamer, a goose relative that eats water lettuce and hyacinth. You may also spot the wattled jacana — nicknamed Jesus Christ for its ability to walk on floating plants.
These are just a few of the creatures that thrive in this varzea forest.
