We had the most amazing vacation staying at the Treehouse Lodge. It was an experience we will never forget! The food was absolutely delicious & each plate was a masterpiece. When we came in from the jungle we were greeted with chilled fresh juices. They were so refreshing. We loved fishing for piranhas. Our night canoe ride through a hidden pond was such a highlight. Literally our guide was wacking away tree branches with a machete so that the boat could continue through. As the sun went down, our surroundings came alive like a magical world. There were huge lily pads that had little glow worms on them. Fireflies lit up the dark sky like twinkle lights! It was like we had arrived in a wonderland. The water was covered with little green leaves that looked like ground cover. It was magical! Our guides were so knowledgeable about different species and where to find the animals. On different tours, we saw mackaws, caiman, monkeys, owls, dolphins, sloths, frogs, spiders and snakes. A capuchin monkey climbed into our canoe and ate bread on my sister-in-laws lap! The bungalows were like staying in a 5 star hotel with fresh white linens, bathroom and shower. We had a beautifull view of the top of the rainforest with animals all around us. We visited the local villages & met the people. One in our group had gathered medical supplies and clothes to give to them. It was amazing! In one village, we got to hold a mom and baby sloth! The lodge workers went out of their way to take care of us and make sure that we felt safe! There was always someone with us. I was never afraid. Our experience was fantastic and I would highly recommend you coming here and bringing your family. We will be back for sure!

One bit of advice that I would give is to make sure you bring 100% deet. When I went shopping for deet, the sporting goods store employee told me that 100% deet was overkill and that 30% deet would be just fine. Well, it was not good enough. I got quite a few bug bites. Other members of our group had 100% deet and did not get a single bite. I highly recommend you bringing only 100% deet. If you travel to the Amazon forest, you will want to stay at the Treehouse Lodge!
