Wow! The Treehouse Lodge was amazing! The tree houses themselves were beautiful and very well built. The furnishings were clean and comfortable. We stayed in bungalow #4 which is the largest one available. It had plenty of space and was located near the main dining area so it was a short walk to the dining area and boat dock. We were able to see exotic birds and common squirrel monkeys in the trees right from our bungalow. The construction of the bungalows was such that we had a clear unobstructed view of the jungle (360 degrees) through screens (no walls). There are curtains for privacy when needed. Although every effort is made to keep critters out of the bungalows (ie. screening at every possible nook and cranny) they still managed to find a way in. Remember, this IS the jungle!!! This actually added to the adventure!! The jungle is only for those wanting a TRUE nature experience (including creepy crawly things). The service was impeccable! Everyone on the staff was eager and willing to do anything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable! Sterling (the chef) created incredible meals three times a day as well as a formal snack between lunch and dinner. It was also quite entertaining to watch him work in the kitchen (cooking and dancing)! There was nightly entertainment provided by the staff (Alex, Paul, Abel, Isaac, Willie). Ronnie the rock of the wait staff was attentive and professional. We were able to communicate in English as well as Spanish. Alex was an amazing guide! He knows the jungle well, and did a great job of showing and educating us about the wildlife and plants in the jungle.

NOTE: #1 Take cash with you (Soles)!! You will need to pay cash (before you check out on your final day) for any drinks that are not bottled water or juice. You will also need cash (Soles) to leave a staff tip as well as a separate tip for your jungle guide.
#2 bring plenty of DEET. If you use it regularly bugs won’t bother you. If you don’t use it, you will definitely be bitten!
